Easy to install indoors or outside under roof cover from rain. These cameras are 'HomeKit' only, so no prying eyes outside your own cloud. The quality is great for the price, the app allows for movement of the camera and zoom.Pro- It's only HomeKit, so no data leaves your house outside your own iCloud.Con- When the power goes out, you have to set the pan/tilt again. We have Logitech's for rain side, and these under the porch and in the house. Great addition to a camera network without the $$$'sEasy set up Super Happy Pro Tip:Most routers have 2.5 and 5ghz. If you have bandsteering on or have both bands under one wifi network name, here's the easiest way to set up any HomeKit device, as almost all HomeKit devices need the 2.4ghz band:Log into your router, turn off dual band steering so you have two networks, one for 2.4 ghz and one for 5ghz. Typically your router will rename your SSID (your network wifi name, say "My_Wifi") with appendage or the band onto your normal name (My_Wifi_5.0 and My_Wifi_2.4).NAME THE 2.4ghz (My_Wifi_2.4) band the old name you had (My_Wifi). This way, all your devices (other HomeKit things, your phone, etc...) can still find the network connection to your wifi...and will ignore the 5ghz as it's new.Train your new HomeKit device with your phone...it will only see a 2.4ghz network, as required but the HomeKit devices, since that's the name all your devices use as the name from before, and it's the only network they will see now.Once you have all your HomeKit devices working, log back into your router, turn on bandsteering again, make sure the name is back to the old name (My_Wifi) and things will be as before...your phone will use 5ghz when needed, but your HomeKit devices will be trained to the 2.4ghz side.I joined the HomeKit Ecosystem last year and my home is mainly set up with Vocolinc hardware. They’ve been consistent for me, cost effective and have worked well in my smart home environment. After 72 hours, here are my initial thoughts.Cons:*Slightly bulky. But completely understandable given our current technology. I’d like to see these camera’s become a little slimmer.*Instructions cover the basics, but not enough to understand and make the most of the camera’s features. And it is packed with features. I’d recommend going to YouTube as they’re is a great review I’d recommend from “HomeKit News and Reviews” on this camera.*USB C to A cord is 2 meters. If your placing on the corner of a ceiling, you may need a larger cord. I’ve had to order longer cords as a result.Pros:*Cost effective! I found the price for two camera’s to be very competitive. I’ve seen and tried camera’s with a much higher price tag and very limited in functionality.*Easy to use. If you use any other Vocolinc products, the flow and use will be similar to those user interfaces.*Vocolinc App/HomeKit. This is a tricky one as it’s really a Con and Pro. The Vocolinc app provides much more access to the camera’s features yet HomeKit does put a limit to this. I’m not entirely sure the reasons why. But I find myself having to bounce between both apps, such as in cases where I need to adjust the camera view. See the YouTube review I referenced.*Built seems solid, camera clarity is clear, audio and speaker is clear. I’ve had no issues tinkering with this over the last days.*Privacy!!! Recordings are through iCloud. I’ve read and observed that there are other camera providers that house your recordings on their servers. I’m also running iOS 15 dev which unclad the 5 camera limit on the 2 TB plan.Again, these are my observations in the last 72 hours.Given this early experience I have ordered another camera to also see how a multiple set up works. Does exactly what is says it would do. Great price for the quality.
